How Signal Boosters Work

1️⃣ Outside Antenna Captures the Signal -An antenna mounted outside the vehicle detects weak mobile signals from nearby cell towers.

2️⃣ Signal is Amplified – The booster unit strengthens the signal and reduces interference for better voice and data performance.

3️⃣ Inside Antenna Rebroadcasts the Signal – A small antenna inside the vehicle distributes the boosted signal, ensuring stronger reception for all connected devices.

"Finally, no more dropped calls!"⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

"I live in a rural area and drive long distances for work. Before installing this booster, my calls would drop constantly. Now, I have a strong signal almost everywhere I go. Setup was easy, and it just works!"

James W.

  • "Easy to install, works like a charm"

    ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
"I’m not very tech-savvy, but installing this was a breeze. Just plug it in, attach the antennas, and you’re good to go. The difference in signal strength was noticeable immediately. Great investment!"

    Samantha J.

  • "Great for calls, but data speed varies"

    ⭐⭐⭐⭐☆
"This booster has been fantastic for call quality, especially on country roads. My 4G data has improved too, but in some areas, the speed boost isn’t as big as I expected. Still, much better than before!"

    Emily C.

  • "Perfect for outback trips!"

    ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
"We love road trips, but signal issues in remote areas were always a problem. This booster made a huge difference—now we can call and use maps even in the middle of nowhere. Highly recommended for adventurers!"

    Emma R.

  • "Worth every cent!"

    ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
"I was skeptical at first, but after using this for a month, I can say it’s a game-changer. Installation took minutes, and now I have a reliable signal even in low-coverage areas. No regrets!"

Let's get into the nitty gritty details.

What Is A Signal Booster

A cell phone repeater (also known as cellular repeater, amplifier, or cell signal booster) is a device used to improve cell phone reception in an indoor outdoor environment. A cell phone repeater is typically made up of three primary components:

  • An outside antenna - also called a "reception" antenna
  • A signal amplifier
  • One or more rebroadcast antennas

It's a solution that takes an existing outside cell signal, amplifies it, and then broadcasts the boosted signal to an area inside of a building or vehicle that needs better signal.

What Signal Booster Does Not Do

A cell phone signal booster requires an existing outside cell signal to boost. It cannot create it's own cellular signal, so if there is not an existing outside cell signal available, then a cell phone signal booster will not work.

Will It Work For My Carrier

Mobile signal booster will only work if it supports the same frequency bands that your carrier uses in your area.

Here is the main 4G Bands in Australia

  • Telstra/Optus: 700MHz (Band 28)
  • Vodafone: 850MHz,1800MHz,2100MHz (Band 5, Band 3, Band 1)

However, carriers also use additional frequencies (bands) for improved capacity and speed.

So please note that it's not always enough to match just one frequency. Australian phone networks are built using multiple frequencies, and not all frequencies are available in every location. The network frequencies used in rural areas are often completely different to those used in the city.

If you live in the countryside or suburbs, you need to find out which frequency bands your carrier uses at your location.

How to Find Out Frequency Bands

You can check this information on your carrier’s website, in your phone’s settings, or by using a mobile network analyzer app.

Here's how to check specific frequencies via your phone

iPhone

  1. Turn off Wifi
  2. Key in *3001#12345#*
  3. Press call
  4. Tap: menu
  5. Tap:Serving Cell Info
  6. Scroll down to freq_band_ind

Android

Install an app Network Cell Info Lite on the Google Play store. It provides detailed network cellular information.
